Party Poker offers Texas Hold’em, Omaha (Hi and Hi/Lo) and 7-Card Stud (Hi and Hi/Lo). U.S players are prohibited from using the site, but it is still one of the best poker rooms online.
It is a particularly good place for Omaha players. There are two main reasons for this. One, Party Poker is part of the Party Gaming brand which also has Party Casino, Party Bets, Part Bingo, and Party Gammon; thus, Party Poker gets a lot of cross-over traffic. Two, a lot of poker affiliates promote the Party Poker site; this means there are many new players.
These two things – crossing over players and newly recruited players – have jacked up traffic at the site (there are typically around 11,000 ring-game players at Party Poker during peak hours) and has led to a situation where there are many inexperienced poker players. Thus, it’s easy to win at Omaha tables and tourneys – especially those with low stakes.
Omaha Action at Party Poker
The large traffic can be felt at both the Omaha and Omaha High-Low tables. In fact, Omaha tables have the second-largest traffic in Party Poker. During peak hours, there are around 700 Pot Limit Omaha Hi players at Party Poker. More players could be found at Omaha High-Low tables though; it has an average showing of around 700 during peak hours.
I recently visited the Party Poker site to monitor traffic at the Fixed- and Pot-Limit tables of the Omaha High-Low variant. There were around 420 players at the Pot Limit tables and around 280 for Fixed Limit Omaha High-Low tables.
At Party Poker, Omaha ring games and tournaments are quite loose, especially for the low-stakes games. In fact, there are even tables with mid-high stakes that still had flop percentages of around 50%. This means the Omaha action at Party Poker can be quite profitable for the right kind of player.
Party Poker: Recommended for Omaha Players
Aside form the fact that you’ll never run out of tables to play in and other players to play against and beat, you’ll also like the simple yet functional software from Party Poker. The main lobby has now been reconfigured for more convenient filtering functions and tables could now be custom-resized to accommodate multi-tabling.
Depositing money into your Party Poker account is also very easy because of the myriad deposit options available. They include bank transfer, credit card payment, and other options like NETeller, PaySafe, UKash, eWire, MoneyBookers, Click2Pay, etc. Cash-out options are as various and they include (but are not limited to) VISA, WebMoney, NETeller, check by mail or via FedEX.
Upon your first deposit, you will get a bonus which may be $25 or a 30% deposit bonus match-up of up to $150. The main bonus for first-time depositors, though, is place they earn for the New Player Lucky Dollar Tournament.
